About The Position

GardaWorld Security Services is seeking a Tactical Security Officer in Fredericksburg, VA. This role requires an individual with a keen sense of observation, the ability to anticipate risk, and act accordingly. As a Security Officer – Tactical, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, etc. The ideal candidate will possess an active armed DCJS license and demonstrate proficiency in firearm handling and tactical decision-making.

Requirements

Must have an active armed DCJS license (VA DCJS Armed License with Handgun Endorsement).
Law enforcement experience (to include corrections, prior military service, or Enhanced Armed Security Officer or similar role experience) of at least 3 consecutive years within the last 10 years, accurately documented on resume.
Demonstrate proficiency with the semi-automatic pistol platform and successfully complete the current FBI Standard Qualification Course with a minimum score of 80%.
Complete judgmental use-of-force training, De-escalation training, CPR/AED certification, and Stop the Bleed training.
Maintain elevated physical fitness standards; physical fitness must be demonstrated during an assessment and passed in order to be hired.
High school education or equivalent (GED), or a college degree/transcript.
Able to pass an extensive background screening and drug test screening process.
At least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

Patrol environments such as retail stores, airports, and detention centers.
Maintain elevated physical fitness standards.
Demonstrate proficiency with the semi-automatic pistol platform and successfully complete the current FBI Standard Qualification Course with a minimum score of 80%.

Maintain physical fitness, firearm certifications, judgment and legal use of force training, CPR, and Stop the Bleed certifications up to date during tenure.
Participate in licensing verifications and employment verification.
Undergo background investigation, prior disciplinary review, and drug screening.
Undergo Human Resources review and firearms history review.
Complete reduced-light firearms qualification.
Receive judgmental use-of-force instruction alongside legal authority and use-of-force training.
Undergo CPR/AED training and Stop the Bleed certification.
Pass a physical readiness assessment.
Demonstrate knowledge of core rules for safe weapon handling and management.
Practice drawing, drawing under stress, and secure re-holstering.
Train in firing and navigating in low-visibility environments.
Learn general mechanics, operation, and maintenance of weapons.
Understand steps for weapon malfunctions and re-qualification.
Learn to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Learn to operate automated external defibrillators.
Receive formal training for severe hemorrhage control.
Practice rapidly deploying tourniquets to limbs.
Learn to perform quick triage and evaluate injuries.
Learn to manage communication with municipal emergency services.
Understand legal boundaries and jurisdiction of the role.
Understand strict criteria and thresholds for using deadly force.
Learn verbal and tactical techniques to diffuse tension.
Assess environments to isolate and identify hazards.
Develop critical thinking under high-stress conditions.
Participate in live-action roleplay and immersive simulations.
