About The Position

Precision Signs is seeking an Engraving Team Member to operate engraving and braille machines and laser equipment to apply Raised Lettering System (RLS), braille, and graphics to sign faces. The role follows engineering drawings and ADA compliance standards and requires attention to detail and knowledge of engraving techniques to produce high-quality work that meets aesthetic and regulatory requirements.

The position offers opportunities for increased responsibility and career growth, along with cross-training and hands-on experience in diverse areas of production. Work is primarily shop-based, with regular access to engraving and laser machines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and precision.
• Basic understanding of laser operation and engraving technology.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk around the work area, and use manual dexterity to operate machines.
• Ability to lift materials up to 25 lbs. and use hand tools during setup and maintenance.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant technical training in engraving or manufacturing processes.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engraving environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate engraving and braille machines to produce signage according to engineering specifications.
• Use laser technology to apply RLS and graphics to sign faces accurately and consistently.
• Set up and calibrate machines for engraving jobs, selecting appropriate materials and tooling.
• Check finished products for compliance with engineering drawings and ADA regulations.
• Inspect materials for defects before processing.
• Adjust machines and processes to correct issues.
• Follow work instructions and engineering drawings to fulfill production requirements.
• Maintain records of production activities, job completion, and material usage for inventory and quality assurance.
• Ensure engraving operations meet company standards and ADA compliance requirements.
• Communicate job progress, challenges, and production timelines to Crew Leads.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth workflow and efficient equipment use.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform routine maintenance on engraving and laser machines.
• Follow safety practices and protocols, including using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Complete engraving jobs on time and meet production schedules.
