About The Position
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School, located in Pasco County FL, is seeking an experienced, full-time English teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position requires a commitment to the ministry, philosophy, and goals of Catholic education. The teacher will be responsible for instruction in English and potentially other high school subjects. Successful candidates will also need to complete background screening, safe environment certification, and mandated diocesan training.
Requirements
- Commitment to the ministry, philosophy, and goals of Catholic education.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
- Valid Florida Department of Education Professional Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in English (grades 6-12).
- Proficiency with instructional technology.
- Successful completion of Level 2 background screening.
- Safe environment certification.
- Mandated diocesan training.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree.
- Teaching experience in all levels of high school English, including Advanced Placement.
- Familiarity with standards-based assessment.
- Classroom technology integration using Chromebooks.
- Ability to facilitate the school Yearbook.
- Ability to teach other high school subjects.
