About The Position

Chrysalis Therapeutic Boarding School is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven English Teacher to support adolescent girls in a residential therapeutic setting. This role combines standards-based English instruction with trauma-informed care to help students build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and reengage with learning. The English Teacher creates a structured, supportive classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, communication, and personal growth. Working closely with therapists and residential staff, this educator helps students translate therapeutic progress into academic success while modeling healthy relationships and boundaries. This position is ideal for an educator who values connection, collaboration, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of students on their path to healing.

Requirements

  • Age: 21+ years of age or older
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (typically in English, English Education, or a related field)
  • Montana teaching license (Class 1, 2, or 5) with a secondary English/Language Arts endorsement.
  • Quick decision-making skills and classroom management.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Montana state laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated English curriculum aligned with state standards, adapting instruction to meet diverse academic levels and individualized student needs.
  • Create engaging, multi-modal lesson plans (e.g., discussion, project-based learning, technology integration) that support both academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Maintain a structured, trauma-informed classroom environment that promotes positive behavior, emotional regulation, and student accountability.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, and evaluations; track progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with clinical, residential, and academic teams to support individualized treatment and education plans, including participation in team meetings and parent communication.
  • Maintain accurate student records (academic performance, attendance, progress) and actively contribute to the broader school community through supervision, meetings, and professional development.
