English Teacher in Needham, MA
About The Position
Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring an English Language Teacher to provide in-person, customized lessons to our clients in Needham, MA. This role involves teaching two individual classes for children, aged 11 and 8, with back-to-back lessons requested. The preferred schedule is Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm, with a preference for afternoons. The lessons are 1.5 hours long and will take place in Needham Heights, MA. The students are beginners in English, with Portuguese as their native language. The goal is to help the students improve their language skills for a smooth transition, support their social and cultural adaptation, and build their confidence in a new school environment. The students enjoy pop music, sports like roller skating, basketball, and volleyball, and dancing.
Requirements
- Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language (English)
- A degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or a related field
- A minimum of two years of ESL teaching experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching children
- Familiarity with students who enjoy pop music (KATSEYE, Bruno Mars), roller skating, basketball, volleyball, and dancing.
