About The Position

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell (CCSL) is seeking a dedicated and creative middle school English Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year to teach Grade 8. CCSL is a tuition-free public charter academy committed to providing a high-quality, academically challenging education in a safe and structured environment for a diverse student body. The school aims to prepare all students for success in college, foster lifelong learning, and strengthen their civic, ethical, and moral values, while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accountability. CCSL teachers are expected to deliver engaging lessons, manage classrooms effectively, observe and report on student progress, collaborate with parents and staff, and demonstrate commitment to the school community. Teachers may be assigned a specific grade level or subject, and may also take on non-instructional duties such as exam proctoring, recess supervision, or leading clubs. The school encourages teachers to share their special talents and hobbies with students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Fluency in subject area to be taught (English).
  • All required state certifications for position.
  • Completion of all required reference and criminal background checks.
  • A bright smile, warm heart, and a plethora of positive energy!

  • Additional trainings or certifications in specific reading programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Grade 8 English.
  • Infuse creativity into delivering engaging lessons and ensuring students achieve academic growth.
  • Apply school and classroom rules consistently and effectively by utilizing preventive discipline techniques, motivating and engaging students, communicating expectations to students clearly, and establishing and maintaining a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Observe, evaluate, report and record students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Work with parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral or academic struggles and celebrate successes and growth.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the school community by adhering to school policies and procedures and meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • May be assigned additional non-instructional duties such as proctoring exams, supervising recess or lunch, or leading a club/group/activity.
