General Description of Position: Laurel Springs School is seeking an experienced, passionate, and innovative English educator to join our dynamic English Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Advanced Placement English courses and be able to teach English courses to all students in grades 6–12th. This individual will lead weekly, engaging, synchronous lessons for 6th to 12th-grade students, provide targeted academic support, and actively contribute to curriculum review and development. The successful candidate will also create meaningful enrichment opportunities to deepen student understanding and engagement with the English academic concepts to develop their critical thinking skills. A commitment to academic excellence, student-centered instruction, and creative online teaching strategies is essential. Candidates must have exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and guardians in a fully online, asynchronous learning environment that includes regular opportunities for live interaction. This full-time, 12-month remote position requires collaboration with the English Academic Department Chair and fellow educators to ensure a cohesive and rigorous English program. Educators must be available during business hours (Eastern Time) to grade assignments, provide feedback, support students, contribute to curriculum projects, share ideas to enhance the program, participate in meetings, lead one-on-one student sessions, and other opportunities within Laurel Springs School. Occasional evening availability and travel to in-person events may also be required.
