About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor lessons to each student’s needs and learning style and use a gradual-release approach to help students achieve mastery, confidence, and academic success. The position offers a flexible schedule and does not require lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading outside teaching. Brightmont Academy has provided one-to-one instruction since 1999 and operates 26 campuses across 10 states.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students who learn differently.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with students.
- Proficiency with G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; nice to have but not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
