About The Position

Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to students’ needs and learning styles and use a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve mastery. The role offers a flexible schedule and does not require lesson planning, parent conferences, or outside work such as grading. Brightmont Academy has provided one-to-one instruction since 1999 and operates 28 campuses across 11 states.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning styles.
Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with the next generation.
Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington and pass a federal background check.

Nice To Haves

Orton-Gillingham training.
Teaching certification; noted as helpful but not required.
Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
