About The Position

This is an instructor pool for English (Pre-Transfer & Transfer) Associate (Part-time) positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role requires sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition; OR
• Master’s degree in literature and writing studies (an approved comparable degree at MiraCosta College); OR
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND master’s degree in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing, or journalism; OR
• A valid appropriate California Community College Credential in the discipline area. OR the equivalent.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
