About The Position

This role involves working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The primary goal is to help them learn, develop their abilities, and raise their self-esteem. The position requires resilience and dedication, with a focus on celebrating "huge small victories" that contribute to significant positive steps. The Witherslack Group provides comprehensive support, including in-house psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals, to ensure success and career development. Queensmead House School, where this role is based, is an independent specialist day school with primary and secondary settings, recently rated Good by Ofsted. It caters to pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviours, set in an inspiring location with views of Windsor Castle.

Requirements

  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • A ‘can do’ attitude – a team player who rolls up their sleeves to help others.
  • Genuine passion for teaching and the impact your subject can have on young lives.
  • Ability to relate your subject to each pupil and build great relationships with your class.
  • Enthusiasm and expertise to build your department.
