About The Position

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell is seeking to expand its English Language Education (ELE) team with additional certified teachers for the middle school (grades 5-8) for the 2026-27 school year. The school is looking for a total of 1.5 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) to join the team. Collegiate Charter School of Lowell is a tuition-free public charter academy that offers an academically challenging program within a safe and structured environment. Established in September 2013, CCSL initially served students in K-3 and has since expanded to serve students in K-12. The school's mission is to provide high-quality education to a diverse student body, preparing them for college success, fostering lifelong learning, and strengthening civic, ethical, and moral values, all while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Fluency in the subject area to be taught.
  • All required state certifications for position - EL/ML/ESL for Elementary + SEI Endorsement.
  • Completion of all required reference and criminal background checks.
  • A bright smile, warm heart, and a plethora of positive energy!

  • Ability to share a special talent or hobby with students.
  • Experience as a tutor working with students struggling with specific concepts or subjects.
  • Willingness to lead a club/group/activity.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons and ensure students achieve academic growth.
  • Apply school and classroom rules consistently and effectively using preventive discipline techniques.
  • Motivate and engage students, clearly communicating expectations.
  • Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Observe, evaluate, report, and record students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address students’ behavioral or academic struggles and celebrate successes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the school community by adhering to school policies and procedures and meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • May be assigned additional non-instructional duties such as proctoring exams, supervising recess or lunch, or leading a club/group/activity.
