About The Position
Lebanon School District is looking for a dedicated English Language Development Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join their supportive and forward-thinking team. This role involves helping English Learners (ELs) grow their skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The teacher will work with students from diverse backgrounds, tailoring teaching and support to their unique needs. Additionally, the ELD Teacher will serve as a resource for other teachers, sharing strategies and tools to ensure the success of every EL student.
Requirements
- PA teaching certification with ESOL Program Specialist certificate
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong communication, motivation, and organizational skills
- Comfort using technology in the classroom
- A collaborative spirit—ready to work with staff, students, and families
- Openness to using translation services when needed
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons using a variety of instructional strategies
- Celebrate cultural diversity and foster an inclusive environment for all learners
- Communicate regularly with families about their child’s progress (with translation support as needed)
- Keep accurate records and maintain all required paperwork
- Share resources and strategies with fellow teachers, especially for newcomers and students with specialized needs
- Offer professional development and classroom support to colleagues
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing learning opportunities
