About The Position

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent position for an English Language Development (ELD) Teacher at Thomas Edison Language Institute, a high-needs school. The role involves teaching for 6 hours per day. The school year is 10 months, consisting of 186 days per year, with a professional work day. The salary range is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. Additional pay opportunities include stipends for hard-to-staff Special Education positions, counselor, social worker, and teacher librarian positions, advanced degrees, various extra-curricular activities, and leadership roles.

Requirements

  • Must carry one of the following CTC documents/authorizations: CLAD, BCLAD, ELA1, or a credential in World Languages.
  • Complete and submit all required documents by the job posting deadline.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal employees may be placed on Column 5 of the salary schedule.
  • External candidates may receive a maximum incoming placement on Column 4, Step 11.
  • Candidates with advanced degrees may be eligible for a $3,000 annual stipend.
  • Eligibility for additional stipends for hard-to-staff Special Education positions, counselor, social worker, teacher librarian positions, various extra-curricular activities, and leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach English Language Development (ELD) to students.
  • Fulfill the duties of an Instructional Faculty member in English Second Language.

  • Potentially take on extra-curricular activities or leadership roles for additional pay.
