About The Position
Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) is seeking an English/Language Arts Teacher for Walton Middle School for the 2026-27 School Year. ACPS is committed to creating engaging, challenging, and relevant learning experiences for students, fostering them into lifelong contributors and leaders in a dynamic and diverse society. The division works collaboratively with families and communities to ensure every student succeeds, with a strong focus on an Anti-Racism policy aimed at ending racism, eliminating inequitable practices, and supporting the unique talents of every child. The ideal candidate will be innovative, self-reflective, collaborative, knowledgeable in their content area, and passionate about closing equity and achievement gaps, while engaging with the Culturally Responsive Teaching model.
Requirements
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement to teach Language Arts at the middle school level (must include eligibility to teach Grades 7 and 8)
- Innovative, self-reflective, collaborative, knowledgeable in their content area and instructional practices, and are continually growing and improving
- Passionate about closing equity and achievement gaps
- Prepared to engage with our Culturally Responsive Teaching model in support of our Equity Mission Statement
