About The Position

Otsego Public Schools is seeking to hire an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher for Otsego Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. This position is posted internally and externally, with preference given to internal applicants. The ELA teacher will be responsible for planning lessons, preparing class materials, and assigning homework to meet class objectives. They will also gather appropriate materials and equipment to address educational goals and objectives, and employ a variety of instructional techniques and resources suitable for the educational environment and the students' needs and limitations.

Requirements

• Valid English (BA/BV/BX/ZC)
• Some teaching experience strongly preferred
• Training in Lucy Caulkins Units of Study preferred
• Candidates with an additional subject area endorsements strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare class materials and homework assignments to meet class objectives.
• Gather the appropriate materials and equipment to address the goals and objectives.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and resources consistent with parameters of the educational environment and the needs and limitations of the students involved.
