About The Position

Warner University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time English faculty position in the Communication Arts Department for the fall 2026 semester. Responsibilities primarily include teaching Composition and developmental writing courses, though general literature courses may be taught as needed and as opportunities arise. Other responsibilities include student advising and serving on department, college, and university-wide committees. We seek candidates committed to teaching, serving, and supporting the university's mission. The candidate chosen for this position will teach primarily in the traditional, in-person classroom setting at Warner University’s campus in Lake Wales, but may also have opportunities to teach online courses.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree (doctorate preferred) in English or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Faculty teaching baccalaureate courses: doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
  • Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework: earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Affirm and support the university’s Statement of Faith.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in teaching at the college level.
  • Familiarity with Moodle or a similar online learning platform.
  • Some degree of theological education or experience in Christian education within an orthodox, evangelical context.
