About The Position

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a Middle School ELA Teacher for the upcoming school year and beyond. NJDOE Certification is required. Requirements

• NJDOE Certification is required
• Must hold a CE, CEAS, Limited CE, or Standard Certificate in “English” issued by the NJDOE
• The 5-8 ELA Add-On would be acceptable for the MS role
• Must be certified to apply

Responsibilities

• Teach Middle School ELA
• Plan lessons and solve problems with peers in professional learning communities (PLCs)
• Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs
• Utilize a research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials
• Use high-quality formative assessments to identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item
• Work with reading and math specialists to support students struggling to master essential skills
• Collaborate with counselors and social workers to help students struggling with non-academic problems
