About The Position

Jersey College, an institution of higher learning focused on excellence and innovation in nursing education, is seeking an English Composition Instructor for its Nursing Program. The college is looking for an individual with a passion for teaching who takes pride in and ownership of student success. The schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

The instructor prepares student progress and grade reports, maintains accurate attendance records, evaluates student competence in accordance with program philosophy and objectives, and uses evaluation methods to measure student learning, experience, progress, and competency. The role also involves attending faculty meetings, maintaining professional qualifications through continuing education and training, and performing other duties as assigned by program or campus leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited school.
• Ability to create and maintain relationships with students and coworkers.
• Motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow.
• Ability to supervise students in the clinical environment.
• Ability to deliver an effective lesson at the level of an RN or PN student.
• Knowledge and experience in the area of nursing specialty.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
