About The Position

Snow College is seeking an English Communications Instructor to teach Fall and Spring semesters at its Richfield campus on a 9-month contract beginning August 2026. The instructor will teach 14-16 credit hours each semester across various subjects within the English and Communication disciplines. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating curriculum, incorporating student success pedagogies, actively engaging in program recruitment and student retention, and developing collaborative relationships with colleagues and external constituents. The role also involves participating in institutional committees and service to the college and community. Snow College is a two-year public college with campuses in Ephraim and Richfield, offering a wide range of programs and courses designed to serve diverse student populations, including high school students, traditional on-campus students, technical education students, online students, and non-traditional students. The college is committed to student success and positive experiences, and was ranked #1 in the nation for student success in two-year colleges by The Chronicle of Higher Education in January 2020. Located in central Utah, Snow College was established in 1888 and serves approximately 6,000 students across its campuses and online, offering Associate degrees, technical certificates, diplomas, and some Bachelor's degrees.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in English, Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a closely related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching.
  • Higher education teaching experience in English composition and communication studies required.
  • Experience teaching one or more of the following subjects: developmental composition, technical writing, public speaking, media writing, interpersonal communication, and/or mass media.
  • Capable and comfortable teaching via a wide range of modalities (Online, Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC), Face-to-Face).
  • Ability to instruct students from all backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to be collegial with faculty, staff, administration, community/industry partners, and to be respectful and encouraging of students.

  • Teach 14 – 16 credit hour equivalencies each semester on a variety of subjects within the English and Communication disciplines.
  • Regularly develop and evaluate teaching and learning curriculum and incorporate pedagogies and practices that lead to student success.
  • Be actively engaged in program recruitment and student retention efforts.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues at Snow College as well as colleagues at transfer institutions and with external constituents.
  • Participate in institutional committees and service to Snow College and the community at large.
