About The Position

EDU-AID's is seeking a passionate and dedicated English/ELL/ESL teacher to join our team in East Haven, CT. The role involves delivering engaging instruction, fostering a supportive classroom environment, and helping students build strong literacy and communication skills. This is a full-time, certified ESL/ELL Teacher position with an assignment detail from August 2026 to June 2027.

Requirements

Full time Certified ESL/ELL Teacher
Must be a teacher with a background in ESL/ELL education or you have acquired: A TEFL/TESOL/TESL certification or an equivalent teaching degree with experience
At least 2 years' experience working with ELLs
Ability to relate well to English Language Learners (ELL’s)

Responsibilities

Providing instruction in English to ELL classes at assigned level that meets the CASAS standards of competency
Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies
Address all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each student's ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the appropriate content area
Administer academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition
Ability to proctor online testing and comprehension of data collection tools
Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies
Adapt curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students and subgroups of students
Establish and maintain standards of behavior required to run an orderly and productive classroom environment
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
