Requirements

Two years' experience at the level of Engineering Testing Aid III.
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Experience at the level of an Engineering Testing Aid III in the service of County of Los Angeles is defined as: Performs physical, laboratory, and field tests of engineering construction materials.

Responsibilities

Collects specimens of soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt for accurate testing.
Evaluates sample data using Greenbook specifications, project specifications, and test data.
Excavates soil samples using hand tools.
Conducts laboratory and field tests on construction materials.
Performs density and compaction tests.
Performs concrete cylinder strength tests.
Performs complex physical tests on undisturbed samples.
Inspects galvanizing, coatings, and reinforcing steel.
Monitors construction materials.
Interprets testing and inspection requirements.
Records test data and inspection results.
Provides technical guidance to lower-level testing staff.
Coordinates testing and inspections activities.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, specifications, and testing standards.
