Your success is what's next with Custom Truck One Source. SUMMARY Work with team of technicians to perform testing and validation duties as set forth by the Product Development Engineering team.
Requirements
- Crane operation
- Rigging and basic lift planning
- Working with/on heavy equipment
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics
- Hydraulic machinery and mobile equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization
Nice To Haves
- Crane operation in overload and testing conditions
- Service and/or maintenance of cranes
- Commercial Driver’s License
- Welding and fabrication skills are not required but must understand principles of weld repair in the field.
- Willingness to understand and accept the risks inherent in prototype testing.
Responsibilities
- Testing prototype cranes and other mobile hydraulic equipment
- Calculating and setting up proper weight stacks according to required test loads
- Applying strain gages and setting up data acquisition equipment in preparation for structural tests
- Organization and maintenance of testing equipment
- Keeping inventory of rigging supplies and submitting requests for materials/equipment as required
- Ensuring the testing pad is clean and free of tip hazards
- Transporting equipment as required between buildings
- Advanced troubleshooting skills including hydraulic leaks and issues, electrical failures, and cracked welds
