About The Position

The Peebles Engineering Test Technician role at GE Aerospace involves assisting in the dis-assembly, repair, preparation for test, and de-preparation of engines following approved instructions and practices. This includes installing engines in the test stand and setting them up for testing, potentially using special or slave systems. The technician will also assist in operating current engine families according to approved work requests, ensuring operation within published limits, and maintaining good communication with support organizations and the team. The Peebles site, established in 1954, is a critical part of GE Aerospace's engine journey, serving as the final stop before engines are installed on aircraft. It is a 7,000-acre campus with extensive facilities supporting various impactful work, including production operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul, production test, development test, and defense & systems. Peebles is recognized for its commitment to safety and excellence, being the first GE Aerospace site to achieve OSHA VPP certification. The site performs new make OEM acceptance testing and contributes to advancing future flight technologies, with a growing workforce of 525 employees.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
  • 1+ year of experience in a mechanical discipline
  • Ability to use hand tools, calibrated tooling and precision measurement instruments
  • Shift flexibility and availability for all available shifts. (outlined below) Shifts are subject to change according to business needs
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining due to potential high risk or hazardous operations and/or working shifts beyond a standard workweek.
