About The Position

The Engineering Technology Intern works directly with the organization’s Engineering Technology Division, receiving supervision and guidance from the Research & Development and Reliability Departments. The intern completes assigned projects intended to improve the organization’s digital platform, address operational difficulties, and develop skills gained through education and prior work experience. The role is onsite in Midland, Texas, and requires availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer from late May through early August. The intern must be able to work 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a BS/MS program in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or another closely related field.
• Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer, from late May through early August.
• Must be able to work onsite in Midland, Texas.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Must have experience with 3D modeling software.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must have attention to detail and be well organized.
• Must be self-motivated, independent, and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, test, and document assigned projects.
• Use appropriate measurement instruments to record equipment dimensions.
• Use 3D software such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks to create accurate visuals of measured equipment.
• Integrate 3D models into the organization’s digital environment.
• Assist Research & Development and Reliability with daily duties.
• Deliver an end-of-program presentation demonstrating the results of the assigned project.
• Comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies by attending required training sessions and safety meetings and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
