Requirements

  • Degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 5+ years of related experience in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of CNC machining processes, programming, machine setup, and tooling selection in 3- and 4-axis and lathe applications
  • Knowledge of GD&T applications related to fixtures and gauges, and experience in work holding/fixture design and procurement
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and AutoCAD/DraftSight
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing methods and tools
  • Experience with capital procurement and project management for capital projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949

  • Previous experience in machine setup
  • Lean/Six Sigma training
  • Experience in Fixture Design and Process Design
  • Experience with welding, both manual and robotic, including programming and implementation
  • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and analyze difficult issues

Responsibilities

  • Lead the process development and execution portion of the APQP and ECR/ECN processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost reduction activities.
  • Support Operations in troubleshooting and improving legacy processes.
  • Support the engineering and manufacturing development cycle with a focus on CNC machine applications.
  • Act as a coordinator between the Customer, Business Development, Process Engineering, Quality and Operations.
  • Responsible for APQP, ECR/ECN, problem-solving, and capital procurement to ensure project completion targets for time and budget are met.
  • Lead product development/problem-solving projects/activities for new launch and current production parts.
  • Design fixtures, select tooling, and create CNC programs to meet Customer and internal quality and cost requirements.
  • Support the quoting of new business.
  • Review and develop standard work instructions for Manufacturing and Engineering processes.
  • Support engineering change notice activities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions to resolve internal and external customer quality issues.
  • Analyze process data, including costs, to identify and develop process improvement opportunities.
  • Support kaizen events as a member of cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes are optimized to maximize efficiency, productivity and profit.
  • Manage tasks and timelines to meet customer and Arrow expectations.
  • Make decisions appropriate to the resolution of the specific tasks and activities assigned.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities through capital procurement.
  • Follow policies and procedures put in place for employee safety and in compliance with the OHSA.
  • Ask the supervisor if unsure of the task or duty assigned.
  • Report unsafe conditions and potential hazards to the supervisor.
  • Wear and maintain the proper PPE required for the task.
  • Do not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.
  • Do not use or operate any equipment or work in a way that may endanger any worker.
  • Report any hazards or contraventions of the OHSA.
