About The Position

This role is for a Technologist, Engineering (T2) within the Water Services team, focusing on Development & Infill projects. The position is based at EPCOR Tower in Edmonton, AB, and is a full-time permanent role. The successful candidate will play a key part in shaping essential water infrastructure to support Edmonton’s growth and ongoing development, delivering residential development and infill projects from concept to completion. Requirements

  • Completion of a Diploma in Engineering Technology (Civil preferred) from a recognized post-secondary educational institute
  • ASET CET designation (or eligibility)
  • Minimum 4 years of directly related experience (or at least two (2) related experience for a Developmental Level appointment)
  • Strong understanding of water and sewer systems, municipal design, and construction practices
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and identifying servicing conflicts
  • Working knowledge of permitting processes, bylaws, and regulatory standards
  • Strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with systems like Oracle, P6, IVARA, or similar tools
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Successfully attained a high school diploma (GED, or equivalent level of secondary education)
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks
  • Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required
  • Prior infractions for unsafe driving behaviours will be evaluated and considered for non-selection regardless of current demerits on file
  • Must provide own vehicles with appropriate insurance in accordance with EPCOR’s Employee Mileage Reimbursement Policy

Responsibilities

  • Review and support approvals of engineering plans, land development applications, and permitting documents
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Provide technical support during construction and assist with issue resolution
  • Track project status, timelines, and deliverables across multiple files
  • Support inspections, pre-construction activities, and project handovers
  • Prepare circulation packages and maintain accurate project documentation across systems (e.g., SharePoint, Oracle, POSSE)
  • Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, and project closeouts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and process enhancements
