About The Position

The Engineering Technician (Surveyor) at Black Thunder Mine will oversee and perform surface surveying efforts as part of the surveying team. This role involves preparing reports, updating mine maps and profiles using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, and maintaining AutoCAD and I-Site files. The technician will also collaborate with engineers on the design of new mine projections and projects, interface daily with supervisors, and ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with established environmental and safety procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in surveying - qualified experience may be substituted for degree.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and I-Site Studio software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient with setup and operation of survey level equipment.
• Proficient with setup and operation of Trimble GPS and I-Site survey equipment.
• Solid knowledge and experience of surveying fundamentals, calculations, and note taking techniques.
