This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. These “solid-state” laser crystals are used in products ranging from medical lasers to military laser systems. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start
Understanding of drawings, BOMs, and prints associated with semi-complex mechanical assembly.
Familiarity with PLCs and PC control systems.
Experience with PLC/ladder control programming
Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in collaborative team environment
Able to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts
Ability to determine/identify sequence of operations or actions to be taken

Responsibilities

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
Provides equipment support to ensure smooth 24/7 operation in Thin Film Coating department.
Supports the Equipment Engineer in design, fabrication, and modification of equipment and tooling.
Performs preventative maintenance on critical equipment and tooling in TFC.
Maintain and/or modify existing coating chambers and chamber components.
Work on long-term projects such as improvement of existing and/or obsolete electrical/PLC components
Document parts drawings, tooling, and check sheets.
Troubleshoots controls, instruments, and mechanical systems
