We are expanding in the Portland market and are seeking Engineering Technicians across all experience levels. Our current backlog includes several large, multi-year projects in the region, providing long-term stability and meaningful project involvement for our team. The Engineering Technician performs construction materials testing and inspection services on some of the most dynamic and high-profile construction projects in the Portland region, supporting safe, code-compliant, and high-quality project delivery. This role requires strong technical judgment, the ability to interpret construction documents, and clear communication with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance with approved plans and applicable codes. We are hiring at multiple levels - responsibilities and compensation will align with experience and certifications.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

  • ODOT Certifications
  • WAQTC Certifications
  • NICET Soils Level I and/or II
  • ICC Soils

Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing of construction materials including soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate
  • Conduct density testing, moisture testing, concrete sampling (slump, air, temperature), and other required field procedures
  • Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely daily field reports using company reporting software
  • Communicate test results, deficiencies, and observations to project managers and contractors
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration compliance
  • Maintain and pursue relevant certifications
  • Uphold strong safety practices in all field environments
  • Participating in continuing education and professional development
