About The Position

CACI is seeking an Engineering Technician who applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve problems by interpreting U.S. Army, vendor manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with electronic repair practices, test equipment, tools, processes, and procedures. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician, work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience performing diagnostics, parts replacement, software reloading, testing and repair action reporting for Electro-Optic Systems.
  • Experience in reviewing, updating, validating test plans, maintenance procedures and forms.
  • Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Global Harmonized System Awareness Training prior to handling Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Awareness and Prevention Training.

  • Current Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is desired.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in a production laboratory, military electronics repair activity or manufacturing setting; laser and/or optics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the "AIRBORNE" family of Electro-Optical Sensor Systems to include but not limited: DAS-1, DAS-3, DAS-4, MX10, MX15, and MX20 (3.14). Technical support includes testing (Rigorous evaluation of system performance and component functionality), repair (Diagnosis and rectification of malfunctions to ensure optimal system operation.), screening (Assessment of system health and identification of potential issues.), evaluation (Comprehensive analysis of system performance and effectiveness.), demilitarization (Safe and compliant disposal of obsolete or non-repairable equipment.), disposal (Proper and environmentally responsible disposal of all waste materials.), and related services for systems, subsystems, equipment and components and shall be performed using the appropriate procedures provided by the Government.
  • Provide comprehensive technical documentation support for the "AIRBORNE" family of Electro-Optical Sensor Systems, encompassing but not limited to: DAS-1, DAS-3, DAS-4, CSP, MX10, MX15, and MX20. (3.8.4) (3.13.1) This support shall include: Modification (Updating and revising existing technical documentation to reflect system changes, upgrades, and improvements.), Validation & Verification (V&V) (Conducting thorough reviews and analyses to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness of all technical documentation.), Procedure Development & Review (Assisting in the development and review of procedures related to the operation, maintenance, and support of these systems.). Applicable Test data shall be meticulously documented in accordance with MSS Lab protocols.
  • Laboratory personnel may be required to perform auxiliary duties to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. These duties may include: General Lab Maintenance (Regular cleaning of the laboratory workspace and equipment. Proper disposal of laboratory waste, including hazardous materials (HAZMAT)), Inventory Management (Monitoring levels of consumables (e.g., reagents, solvents) and ensuring adequate stock. Tracking and monitoring equipment calibration due dates.), Organizational Support (Organizing and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment. Assisting with general laboratory organization and upkeep.).
  • Assist with the analysis of production costs and manufacturing problems; review production changes, waivers, and deviations; attend quality assurance audits and surveys; and assist in the identification of problems and progress concerning production, costs, and quality assurance.
  • Assist with the review of technical specifications for accuracy in support of procurements in accordance with GFI. The Contractor shall analyze design data to determine defects detracting from equipment, system, or component capability to perform to its intended operational requirements and to satisfy all specification requirements. Review production engineering changes, waivers, deviations, and/or alterations for their impact on performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, quality, safety, and life cycle cost. Assist with the evaluation of the design and performance data to make recommendations on strengths and weaknesses of potential equipment types in meeting applicable performance requirements by the Government.
