About The Position

The Engineering Technician supports engineering activities involving the design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems. The technician works from schematics, diagrams, written or verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting. The position also involves operational testing and fault isolation, assisting with remedies for malfunctions, and helping design, construct, test, and check out test equipment. The role is located in Chaska, Minnesota, and is identified as a contract position.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or at least 2 years of related experience; military technical training and field experience may substitute for an Associate's degree.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to meet the position's physical demands, including frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds and required vision capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
• Work on applications that may include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems.
• Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting.
• Perform operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Assist in the design, construction, testing, and checkout of test equipment.
• Use manufacturing, test, development, and diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
