Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an Engineering Technician, Level 3 or Level 4, to join their collaborative teams in Promontory, UT. This role is crucial for missions of paramount importance, pushing the boundaries of what's possible. The Engineering Technician will perform hands-on support functions in a research and development analytical laboratory environment. Key responsibilities include conducting chemical analyses, preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, and ensuring high-quality data generation to support development and production programs. The individual will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers, following instructions to perform experiments and analytical procedures, with increasing independence as proficiency grows. This role involves working with a variety of chemicals, including energetic materials, adhering strictly to established safety standards and procedures. The Engineering Technician is responsible for transforming test plans and analytical requirements into clear, safe, and executable laboratory activities. This involves acquiring subject knowledge through engagement with scientists and technicians, observing laboratory methods, referring to technical specifications, and reviewing analytical procedures and data. The role also includes updating and documenting test results, maintaining laboratory records, and assisting in keeping laboratory equipment and workspaces in good working order. The position may offer a 9/80 or 4/10 schedule, with every other Friday off for 9/80 schedules.
