About The Position

KLA is seeking an engineering technician to join their Electronics Rack & PDU Engineering Center. This team develops sophisticated electromechanical assemblies that power high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for KLA products, enabling innovative image data processing. The engineering technician will support the development, deployment, and sustaining of image computer racks and power distribution solutions, aligning with KLA’s compute and infrastructure roadmaps. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical execution and systems-level understanding, involving assembly build, subsystem integration, testing, documentation, and change management within a dynamic engineering environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong ownership, practical assembly and problem-solving skills, interdisciplinary knowledge, and effective communication across multiple functions.

Requirements

  • Hands-on expertise with rack-level or similar complex electromechanical infrastructure, power distribution systems, controls, cabling, and related hardware.
  • Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications, developing test plans, and implementing validation and qualification testing.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting lab operations, and safety compliance (5S, EHS)
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years' experience supporting hardware development, system integration, assembly, testing, and lab operations in electromechanical environments.
  • Ability to independently perform system bring-up, integration, problem solving, and root cause analysis across mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, build, validation, deployment, and maintenance of rack-level electromechanical systems, including mechanical structures, PDUs, controls, cabling, and monitoring hardware.
  • Perform system assembly, integration, upgrades, testing, and problem solving, applying structured root-cause analysis to resolve issues and improve reliability.
  • Develop and implement test plans and procedures to support product validation, qualification, and compliance with electrical, thermal, acoustic, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and document test results, providing recommendations to improve product performance, manufacturability, and release readiness through multi-functional collaboration.
  • Own and sustain Ann Arbor Rack Lab operations, including equipment readiness, tool calibration, inventory of consumables, and enforcement of 5S principles to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant lab environment.
