Contribute to the communities where we reside. We have an exciting position open: Engineering Technician, this position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will be based in Eatontown and is responsible for maintaining electrical and electro-mechanical production machinery to ensure machine operates properly and within set specifications; refers advanced troubleshooting or repairs to Maintenance Mechanic.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Must have knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Must have mechanical skills/aptitude (as determined by testing)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift, 1 to 2 times every 4 hours. Lifts 30% and reaches above shoulder 20% of shift.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, crawl and stoop continuously throughout the shift. Bends 30%; stands 50% and walks 50% of shift.
  • Must have good vision in order to perform visual inspection duties.
  • Must be able to hear warning signals and verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to work as a member of a team, have high energy level and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to discern shades of color and color differences relating to component parts used in the manufacturing process.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years hands on packaging / assembly equipment experience with strong mechanical aptitude and problem- solving skills.
  • Must be able to lead a small group on project assignments.
  • Must be able to read, understand and troubleshoot electrical schematics, blueprint drawings, PLC RLL and create PLC programs (Siemens, Allen Bradley).

Responsibilities

  • Repair, troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical components of high-speed production equipment.
  • Repair or rebuild spare parts for production equipment.
  • Upgrade electrical and electronic controls on production equipment, including design, fabrication, installation, and programming and addresses machine improvements as part of the process.
  • Review processes for approval and initiates process improvements.
  • Document processes and procedures for maintenance and machine instructions.
  • Overhaul machinery to original operating condition and works with Engineering team in the design of new equipment or upgrades to current equipment.
  • Assemble, install, and debug machinery built in-house.
  • Supply detailed purchasing requests for necessary repair parts and Engineering projects.
  • Design/build test and training equipment for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic devices, and writes operational/troubleshooting manuals.
  • Develop and deliver training programs/material to new and existing mechanics.
  • Use maintenance management software and computer to define PM requirements for production.
  • Prioritize and develop schedules for assigned projects and daily activities, track timely completion against objectives.
  • Ship and receive U.S. and international component parts.
  • Develop and enter maintenance tasks and work orders into SAP.
  • Provide technical support in root cause failure analysis for significant production and support system issues and investigations.
