About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician in Middletown, RI. This role involves assisting in the assembly, wiring, installation, and modification of electronic components, cables, harnesses, PCBs, and test fixtures. The technician will perform routine tests, check circuit continuity, voltage, and current using standard tools, and replace defective parts under supervision. They will work from schematics and diagrams to perform testing and troubleshooting, and will be responsible for recording test results, logging configuration data, and reporting discrepancies to engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some technical/vocational training preferred
• Must have the ability to obtain an Interim SECRET clearance.
• Ability to read basic schematics and wiring diagrams; fundamental knowledge of electronic circuits and hand tools.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new tools/software.
• Good attention to detail and documentation habits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assembling, wiring, installing, and modifying electronic components, cables and harnesses, printed circuit boards (PCBs), or test fixtures.
• Run routine tests and check circuit continuity, voltage, or current using standard tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Replace defective parts, repair basic assemblies, and maintain equipment under close supervision.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Record test results, log configuration data, and report discrepancies in blueprints or schematics to engineers.
