About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Infrared and Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Surface Offboard Countermeasures Engineering Branch located at NSWC Crane in Crane, Indiana. This technician will provide high level support for MK-53, MK-59 and LEED. Support engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electronic and mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertakes analysis of data where guidelines are provided.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repair of on-site and shipboard assets/systems.
  • Shipboard installations, test events and sea trails.
  • Provide a high level of Fleet Support, spanning testing, modernization, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Perform CSSQT and ORDALT.
  • Inventory tracking and kitting of materials.
  • OCONUS and CONUS travel up to 75% for NAVSEA support
