About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Infrared and Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Countermeasures Design Branch located at NSWC Crane in Crane, Indiana. This role involves supporting engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electronic and mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems. The technician will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions. They will assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions, collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data, and prepare engineering documentation, reports, and drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). The position also requires performing mathematical calculations per engineering specifications and undertaking data analysis where guidelines are provided. Specific job duties include developing project drawings and maintaining iPDM, assisting engineers in the development of plans and drawings, analyzing data for the creation and editing of technical data packages (TDP), providing reverse engineering models for project development, and reviewing specifications for drawing packages. The role also involves creating, editing, reviewing, and executing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).

Requirements

  • AA degree in related discipline and nine (9) years related experience; Or High School and eleven (11) years related experience and related advanced certification.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals, meet schedule requirements, and serve customer needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form at multiple levels of management/command.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to develop and review training material, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to research, read, and follow Technical Orders, directives, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to research and evaluate situations, provide viable solutions, and execute mission needs.
  • Ability to handle high stress situations and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Obtain/Maintain Secret clearance
