SCA Engineering Technician V
About The Position
SAIC is seeking an Engineering Tech V to support the Infrared and Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Surface Offboard Countermeasures Engineering Branch located at NSWC Crane in Crane, Indiana. The candidate will provide a high level of technical and engineering support for Nulka systems. Job Description, includes but not limited to: Support engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electronic and mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. Assist in preparing engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). Undertakes analysis of data where guidelines are provided.
Requirements
- Associates degree and two (2) years or more experience, Additional experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals, meet schedule requirements, and serve customer needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form at multiple levels of management/command.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work.
- Ability to develop and review training material, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to research, read, and follow Technical Orders, directives, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to research and evaluate situations, provide viable solutions, and execute mission needs.
- Ability to handle high stress situations and respond appropriately.
- Ability to obtain/Maintain Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and repair of on-site assets.
- Proficiency in testing shipboard wiring, power conversion modules, consoles, and fault display panels using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Provide a high level of testing, and maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and repair critical defense readiness systems.
- Strict adherence to ordnance safety protocols, hazardous material handling, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention.
