About The Position

This role provides hands-on technical support by building, inspecting, reworking, assembling, and testing electrical hardware and subassemblies to support rapid prototyping, verification activities, and continuous improvement. The technician applies expertise with schematics, build documentation, and test methods to troubleshoot issues, drive high-quality workmanship, and ensure deliverables meet project requirements, safety expectations, and applicable procedures. The role also supports ongoing process improvements by documenting results, capturing issues found during build/test, and collaborating with engineering on corrective actions and improvements, consistent with the Engineering Tech V scope of technical support, testing/troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Requires specialized expertise of systems, techniques, tools and procedures typically obtained through prior related work experience, training, and/or education.
  • Requires 7+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.

  • Prior Medtronic experience on surgical capital equipment
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products.
  • Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products.
  • Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems.
  • Conducts, analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses.
  • Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
