About The Position

Join our Applications, Teardown and Design teams as an Engineering Technician, where you will be an integral part of our lab environment. This role is perfect for an organized and curious problem-solver looking to build a foundation in semiconductors. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship from our experienced engineers while directly contributing to the assembly, testing, and debugging of cutting-edge electronic platforms. We are committed to providing the necessary training to develop your skills in troubleshooting, advanced electrical test techniques, and customer demos.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a closely related field. (Relevant hands-on experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.)
  • Experience and comfort working with standard lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret circuit board schematics.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and communication skills for recording results and managing lab assets.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in a text-based programming language such as C, or a common scripting language such as Python, PERL, or Tcl.
  • Hands-on lab test/debug experience gained during school projects or prior employment, particularly pre- and/or post-silicon validation.
  • Familiarity with schematics capture tools (such as PADS), CAD software, 3D printers, or other specialized lab equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, in-circuit emulators).

Responsibilities

  • Perform surface-mount soldering related to the assembly, repair, and rework of printed circuit boards (PCBs) populated with surface mount components (including fine pitch components like CSP, BGA, QFN, 0402, 0201, 01005).
  • Use electronic schematics and layout diagrams to assemble, debug, and fix problems at the board or system level under the mentorship of senior engineers.
  • Implement the proper execution of defined test experiments and run simple test sequences to verify board functionality.
  • Design and build various custom cable assemblies and perform mechanical modifications to hardware platforms.
  • Implement and document lab procedures, ensure proper setup of test stations, and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Using CAD design software create 3D print fixtures in support of customer demos.
  • Help debug test setup issues (Hardware/Software) to ensure test sequences complete with minimal issues.
