About The Position

The successful candidate will perform testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on Plasma Etch and other RF Plasma Systems, working closely with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role involves adhering to safety standards, performing high voltage electrical, high vacuum, and mechanical diagnostics, modifying and rebuilding modules, and executing preventative maintenance. The technician will also partner with engineers and scientists to address customer challenges and support new product development, maintain accurate logbooks, compile test data, and provide detailed reports. Additionally, they will conduct engineering tests, interpret results, work from schematics and diagrams, identify areas for improvement, suggest process improvements, contribute to equipment reliability initiatives, and provide training to lower-level Engineering Technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 4–7 years of technician experience in a high-tech environment required.
• 2–3 years in semiconductor equipment maintenance or related field preferred
• Experience with Applied Materials/Varian tools preferred
• Understanding of electrical circuitry
• Ability to travel when needed to support customer or project needs

• Standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, the use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts.
• Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.

• Familiarity with vacuum systems and RF plasma technology a plus

Responsibilities
