The Engineering Technician IV will oversee complex technical projects, lead teams, and provide expert-level support in constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining highly sophisticated electronic, mechanical, and optical systems. This role is critical in ensuring the highest level of operational efficiency and technical accuracy.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Thorough understanding of the use of standard laboratory test equipment, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, Oscilloscope, Pitot static equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Advanced skills with assembly, connectors and crimping techniques.
  • Expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation.
  • Understanding of soldering techniques.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with 3-D CAD software.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Master’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Experience with extensive ground and flight test programs
  • Familiar with Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus protocol
  • Familiar with Curtiss Wright and/or similar data acquisition systems
  • Active/Previous A&P license

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the construction and assembly of sophisticated systems.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Lead the calibration and testing processes with precision.
  • Interpret and analyze complex test data, providing expert recommendations.
  • Lead and mentor teams of technicians.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on advanced research and development projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards and technical procedures.
  • Contribute to aircraft instrumentation efforts from through system integration, installation, and test operations support
  • Responsible for wiring and harness builds while maintain quality and workmanship standards.
  • Collaborate with instrumentation engineers, test engineers, and operations technicians to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems
  • Maintain, document, and control NIST standards for calibration and verification of measurement equipment
