Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from a 2-year or 4-year college or technical school. Target fields include Automotive Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Technology, or a related skilled trade.
  • Practical experience using common hand tools and power tools.
  • A solid understanding of basic vehicle mechanics and electrical systems, either from coursework, labs, or personal projects.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics or mechanical drawings is a major plus.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to work more than 24 hours per week.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Passionate about automotive technology and eager to learn through doing.
  • Relevant coursework, lab projects, and a demonstrated interest in automotive technology will be strongly considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with building custom test boxes, fabricating special cables, and creating mounting fixtures for new sensors.
  • Install and remove vehicle components (like bumpers and sensors) and run diagnostic reports on test vehicles.
  • Act as a target car driver for system tests (e.g., Predictive Emergency Braking), help collect on-road data, and assist with vehicle test cases.
  • Help keep lab areas organized and ready for the next project.
  • Assist the team during ECU (Electronic Control Unit) software re-flashing activities.
