About The Position
Leidos is hiring a Towed Systems Technician in Poulsbo, WA to support the maintenance, repair, and deployment of towed acoustic arrays used on submarines and surface ships. This hands-on technical role is not a desk job and involves troubleshooting, working with real equipment, and being part of a tight-knit team supporting U.S. Navy sonar systems. The role offers autonomy without micromanagement, a visible impact on mission-critical work, and a flexible work environment with a relaxed shop culture.
Requirements
- Technical training in electronics (trade school, apprenticeship, or military equivalent)
- 2+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, or repairing electrical/electronic systems
- Experience using electronic test equipment and hand/power tools
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Nice To Haves
- Military experience (especially Navy, submarine, or surface fleet)
- Experience with sonar or related systems (AN/BQQ, SQQ-89, etc.)
- Fiber optics experience or certification
- Mechanical aptitude and/or forklift experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, test, and repair electronic and mechanical components of towed sonar systems
- Perform inspections and fault isolation on array modules
- Support system assembly, installation, and removal on submarines and surface ships
- Work both in the shop and pier-side environments
- Assist with shipping, receiving, equipment handling, and inventory tracking
- Operate tools, test equipment, and material handling equipment (including forklifts)
- Travel (CONUS/OCONUS) as needed to support operational requirements
