About The Position

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an Engineering Technician II to join their innovative Engineering Team. This role is responsible for operating custom test equipment and other systems to support R&D and NPD activities, ensuring testing is reliable, effective, and efficient. Requirements

  • Technical associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a testing, lab, manufacturing support, or quality-focused environment.
  • Strong ability to follow detailed written instructions and repeat processes consistently with high attention to detail, especially when documenting results and entering data into digital systems.
  • Comfortable raising concerns, asking questions, and stopping work when results or equipment do not appear correct.
  • Experience working alongside, assisting, or training contract employees.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data entry and basic reporting.
  • Ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and maintain focus in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diverse and complex mechanical tests using a variety of electrical and mechanical test equipment and techniques.
  • Lead the execution of assigned tests per work instructions and directed procedures.
  • Conduct hands-on testing with power tools and accessories for a portion of the role (approximately 20–40%), while primarily ensuring contract employees execute testing correctly and according to work instructions.
  • Perform a wide range of advanced mechanical tests using various electrical and mechanical equipment and testing methods.
  • Perform pretest preventative maintenance and repairs of test equipment.
  • Be knowledgeable of operation and maintenance requirements for both simple mechanisms and complex machines.
  • Participate in the improvement and development of testing and automated machinery.
  • Prepare reports and propose recommendations to the engineering team based off the data collected and observations of how samples are performing during the test.
  • Demonstrate agility in managing multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy, organization, and high-quality documentation.
  • Exercise personal accountability for results, thoroughness, timeliness and accuracy of work performed.
  • Train, oversee, audit, and monitor temporary workers.
  • Contribute to organizational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Follow 6S principles and maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
