Engineering Technician II
About The Position
EvapTech is a cooling tower designer, manufacturer, and contractor serving power generation, industrial, refrigeration, and HVAC evaporative cooling markets. It provides new and replacement field-erected cooling towers and aftermarket services, including replacement parts. The Engineering Technician II provides engineering, product, and installation information needed to quote and execute new and reconstruction cooling tower projects. The role may be assigned as lead technician on projects by the Engineering Supervisor and may direct the work of an Engineering Technician I.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in detailing and application of structural, mechanical, and materials detailing and application skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with all materials of construction, including lumber, fiberglass, steel, and concrete.
- Experience in practical construction and assembly of products.
- Some travel is required.
- Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with multiple departments and personnel.
- Ability to produce accurate and complete bills of materials and drawings.
- Ability to design creative, cost-effective solutions for project construction and repair.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cooling tower design; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Generate installation bills of material.
- Generate installation and fabrication drawings.
- Assist the Engineering Supervisor in developing job approaches to meet schedules and cost budgets, with emphasis on reducing overall project costs and fostering innovation.
- Assist with technical specification review.
- Assist with field problem resolution.
- Assist with the design and development of new components.
- Assist with cooling tower inspections as required.
- Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate component application.
- When assigned as a lead technician, direct the work of an Engineering Technician I.
