About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring an Engineering Technician II for their Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO. This role involves developing and testing solutions to technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will assist engineers in product and process development, conduct research, inspect products for flaws, perform tests, collect data, and utilize CAD equipment. Responsibilities also include equipment setup, maintenance, calibration, and ensuring a clean and organized lab environment while adhering to safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Comfortable handling basic issues and problems.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Problem-solving: Effective troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify the root cause of mechanical issues.
  • Basic computer skills: Familiarity with software for data analysis and documentation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education or experience required.
  • Up to 2 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or an applicable skilled trades program, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes.
  • Performs extensive research and development during the creation phase of the product.
  • Inspects products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement.
  • Conducts tests and collects data.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting equipment during the design phase.
  • Equipment Set up, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure proper operation of equipment and handling of materials and chemicals.
  • Keep the lab clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
