About The Position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Engineering Technician provides maintenance and troubleshooting services to manufacturing/packaging operations and its associated utilities. The incumbent is accountable for responsibilities such as: maintaining, calibrating, modifying, removal, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment of mid-level to high-level complexity under general direction. Conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Values & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environmental guidelines, as appropriate, etc.

Requirements

  • Associate/Technical or Bachelor’s Degree preferable.
  • 3-5 Years minimum or relevant technical experience on site

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings and schematics for electrical, control, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Able to identify and properly use hand tools and power tools for maintenance related activities.
  • Understand the basic math needed to perform maintenance including Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.
  • Understands basic units of measurement such as Temperature, Humidity, Length, Weight and Pressure among others.
  • Ability to review workload and determine most efficient and effective schedule. Able to work under pressure, rotating shifts and in different operational areas. Able to accommodate to request of services, emergencies and changes in priorities.
  • Able to read, translate, interpret and document preventive and corrective maintenance task either in English or Spanish.
  • Pays attention to details, makes simple judgement, self-starter, communicates effectively and establishes positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Good verbal and writing skills in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing, packaging, utility, and facility equipment to maximize reliability and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems to minimize production disruptions.
  • Utilize CMMS to execute maintenance plans, document work orders, track repairs, and maintain equipment history.
  • Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Automation, Utilities, and Reliability teams to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, process changes, commissioning, validation, and startup activities.
  • Maintain accurate GMP-compliant documentation, including maintenance records, calibration data, and operational logbooks.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by following EHS requirements, conducting Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and utilizing LOTO and Safe Work Permit processes.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordination for contractors performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and project-related work.
  • Demonstrate expertise in at least two maintenance disciplines, including Electrical, Industrial Mechanical, Instrumentation, Tool & Die/Machining, or Predictive Maintenance, while supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations.
