About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer Technician I, you’ll support manufacturing engineering activities across fabrication, forming, assembly, welding, foam, CNC, and related production areas. You’ll help troubleshoot process concerns, support production readiness, assist with prototype and pilot builds, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that impact safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency. You will also play a key role in supporting technical documentation, including setup sheets, work instructions, Bills of Materials, routings, process documentation, visual standards, and change management activities. This position will contribute to audit readiness and process control in environments aligned with manufacturing quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA-related expectations.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, forming, welding, assembly, foam processing, or related operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools, dimensional verification, and basic manufacturing quality expectations preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, CAD, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing, fabrication, CNC, maintenance, welding, tooling, or technical production support may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, transportation, industrial, or related production environments preferred.
  • Exposure to metal fabrication, foam manufacturing, assembly operations, CNC equipment, welding, or technical manufacturing support preferred.
  • Exposure to CNC equipment, tooling systems, robotics interfaces, or automated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Exposure to CAD software, ERP/MRP systems, or technical manufacturing systems preferred.
  • General awareness of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, or structured problem-solving methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing engineering activities across fabrication, forming, assembly, welding, foam, and related operations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting process concerns related to safety, quality, throughput, or efficiency.
  • Support setup verification, process checks, production readiness, and operational improvement activities.
  • Participate in production trials, engineering evaluations, and manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Assist with prototype builds, pilot runs, and pre-production activities for new and revised products.
  • Support manufacturability evaluations and product launch readiness.
  • Help with fixture adjustments, tooling support, setup preparation, and engineering change implementation.
  • Document observations, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities during launch and transition activities.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of setup sheets, work instructions, visual standards, and process documentation.
  • Help maintain BOMs, routings, and manufacturing documentation accuracy.
  • Assist with PFMEA, control plans, process flows, and engineering change documentation.
  • Support audit preparation, documentation control, and process verification activities.
  • Assist with initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics, and waste reduction.
  • Provide basic technical support for CNC equipment, fabrication machinery, tooling, and assembly processes.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities under Engineering guidance.
  • Help with time studies, workflow observations, line balancing, capacity evaluations, equipment installation, startup, and process validation.
